More info

Henna adheres to the cuticle, filling in any gaps making the hair stronger, thicker and shiny. It also deposits colour onto the strand.

This high quality BAQ Organic Henna powder comes from certified organic farms in the region of Rajasthan in India.

It contains no:

  • Pesticides
  • PPD
  • Salts
  • Additives

It covers greys very well and gives the most gorgeous vibrant copper/reddish/burgundy tones on the hair. Amla can be used if desired to to achieve more of a brown shade.

USAGE

Depending on the length of your hair, pour the required amount of powder into a Stainless Steel, Plastic or Glass bowl;

Gradually pour warm/hot water over the powder, mixing until a consistent and homogeneous paste is obtained (mud like consistency);

Apply the paste immediately to your hair if using for conditioning purposes otherwise cover an allow to sit for 3-4 hours to allow dye release;

Once the henna is ready (you will know this by the change in tone), apply to damp hair in sections, ensuring you massage it into your scalp/roots/length of hair for best coverage;

Cover you hair in plastic wrap/cling film to keep moist and warm and leave on hair for 3-4 hours;

Repeatedly rinse hair to remove as much henna as possible. Lightly shampoo using a sulfate free shampoo, we recommend  our Ayurcleanse or Silk Kurls Conitioning Shampoo. Rinse and then apply a natural conditioner like our AyurRepair or Deep Conditioning Repair Custard.

SUGGESTIONS

You can add additional herbs to your henna recipe for an extra boost!

Try adding our Organic Fenugreek Powder for extra slip and for its ability to stop shedding and promote hair growth.

Amla will help to maintain your curls as some people experience a slight loosening of their curls with henna. It also promotes hair growth.

Aloe Vera Powder adds moisture.

You can use other liquids besides water to mix your henna such as Green Tea, Chamomile Tea.

Coconut milk is a favourite amongst the Shea Decadence London Team.
